If I had to describe anything else aside from smell, the flakes have a unique texture to them probably because of the unique process of how it is made. I received a lot of large flakes that my Jaguar Cichlid appreciated, and I was able to crush them up for my smaller mouthed fish like the young angelfish and my fancy guppy strains. The jar is clear plastic but of a nice hard quality that won't break if dropped (I definitely dropped it a couple times).
In conclusion, I have no reason to remove stars. My fish love it, I'm happy when they're happy. I will be ordering the 16 oz. jar soon!
